ALI HART

Ali Hart is a documentary, comedy and impact producer. She has over a decade of experience using entertainment to influence culture, from developing creative concepts to producing to strategizing social impact campaigns for documentaries. Her first feature documentary, Sister Úna Lived A Good Death, premiered on PBS’ Independent Lens in February 2024 and is streaming on Prime Video, Apple TV and Xfinity. Ali has produced documentary projects for Sundance Now and Tom Steyer/NextGen Climate, and her comedy producing has lead to collaborations with Above Average, Gimlet Media/Spotify, and Abso Lutely. At talent management firm Relevant Entertainment, Ali worked closely with comedians John Mulaney, JB Smoove, Mike Birbiglia, Amy Schumer, Greg Giraldo (RIP), Baron Vaughn, and more. She began her career at Court TV (aka "the house that OJ built") developing true stories of injustice into scripted films that were used to change laws. While there, Ali also helped develop the network's first scripted series, which starred cult favorite John Waters.

American Haze, the short documentary she produced for Sundance Now, was presented on a panel at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Ali has delivered a workshop on humor and social change as well as moderated a short film panel at the San Francisco Green Film Festival. Her work is featured in the book A Comedian and an Activist Walk Into a Bar: The Serious Role of Comedy in Social Justice by Caty Borum Chattoo and Lauren Feldman (University of California Press, March 2020).

Ali earned an MBA in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School and a BA in Communication Arts and English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She lives in Los Angeles, where she's either at Peacock, the weekly comedy show she produces, or perusing the 'trash pandas' reddit thread.
